Historical or Biographical Note Historical Note: Captain Alfred Durkee was originally from Nova Scotia and commanded the BALCLUTHA (built 1886; ship, 3m) from 1893-1899. His daughter, Inda Frances Durkee was born on the ship. Inda Durkee's granddaughter, Inda Kristan Steven Dunn, participated with the rechristening of the ship as it was again renamed the BALCLUTHA after being named the PACIFIC QUEEN (built 1886; ship, 3m) for some time. ...
